It's hard to get excited about the Browns passing game, with Josh McCown likely running things and Dwayne Bowe the nominal No. 1 receiver. But the lack of weapons at least suggests one or two players could dominate targets, and that makes Rob Housler a player to consider in deeper, TE-friendly fantasy leagues.

Browns coach Mike Pettine views Housler as "the ideal (move) tight end" in the passing game. Cleveland's last such player, Jordan Cameron, had an injury marred season but still put up games with 88 and 102 yards, including a pair of long touchdowns.

Housler, of course, didn't do much of anything as a pass catcher in Arizona, but that was more to do with the offense he played in than any lack of receiving ability on his part. Back in 2010, Housler went for 629 yards and 4 TDs in his final year of college.

Arizona doesn't throw to the position very much, which is why last year's starter, John Carlson, had one game with even 40 receiving yards all season. He was so discouraged he retired in the offseason. Or maybe there were other reasons.

In any case, Cleveland looks pretty talent-thin at wide receiver, so there's an opportunity there for Housler to emerge as a top-3 or even top-2 target for the quarterback. Those who choose to wait until later rounds for a tight end might want to spend a last-round one on Housler as their No. 2 and see what happens.
