If you're looking to use a late-round pick on some young, No. 3 receiver who could come out of nowhere this year, you could do worse than considering Davante Adams. Worst-case scenario appears to be No. 3 wideout in an elite passing attack that uses mostly 3-wide receiver sets.

Best-case, though, he's one of the league's breakout players in his second season. He's getting a lot of positive press, and all he would need to be a No. 2 is an injury to Jordy Nelson (not a youngster anymore) or Randall Cobb (just got paid).

Adams looks pretty good even as a No. 3. Last year he caught 38 balls for 446 yards and 3 TDs despite not opening the year as the No. 3, and with neither Nelson nor Cobb missing any games.

Of course, getting those good games from Adams if the top 2 don't get hurt is iffy. Last year he had four games where he caught at least 5 passes, but in the other 12 he didn't catch more than 2 balls a game. Not somebody you can realistically put into a lineup.

Still, he's a player to throw a later-round pick at and wait and see. There's a report out now of tight end Andrew Quarless being arrested in a weapons offense. Depending how that plays out, he could be suspended (released?), leading to more work for Richard Rodgers -- and maybe even more chances for the No. 3 wideout.
