The NFL announced that LeVeon Bell's three-game suspension has been reduced to two games, while Tom Brady's appeal of his four-game suspension has been denied. Obviously, these developments mean a lot to fantasy teams.

In the case of Bell, it becomes more reasonable to consider still drafting him with the No. 1 overall pick. He'll now miss the first two games of the season, but for the other 14 games, what running back should be slotted ahead of him? If you can stick somebody like DeAngelo Williams or whoever your No. 3 is in that spot for two weeks and get by, you won't regret having Bell to plug in in Week 3.

Had Brady's suspension been, say, reduced to 2 games (as I thought might happen), perhaps that would have been the end of this story and we could all draft accordingly. But instead, this is probably only getting started. Most likely, Brady and the NFLPA will take the league to federal court to fight the suspension.

That's a battle that could stretch out over months, during which Brady might be able to play. An NFL season opener with Brady in the lineup to face the Steelers? Don't rule it out.

We're not legal experts, and it's not as if these issues have been consistently handled or ruled on in the past. Maybe Brady will be able to play while he fights the ruling, maybe he won't. Maybe he'll drop the battle if it appears he'll miss just as much or more time fighting the suspension as if he merely serves it.

Bottom line, the Bell story appears to be over with good news for the Steelers and those drafting Bell. Not so much with Brady.
