Every Saturday morning, I'll take a quick look at all the week's games, offering my own take on what I think will happen, as well as touching on significant injury news since our Weekly came out. I'll check in every so often over the course of the day to answer questions, too.

Week 5 is here, and it's a good one. The teams on bye are largely boring, the matchups we do have are mostly good. It's a beautiful weekend for football.

Washington at Falcons: I believe in the Falcons, but I was still surprised that they are a 9-point favorite in this game. Washington can run the ball and stop the run. I like the Falcons passing game and Devonta Freeman as a full-time type of running back, but I think Washington will be competitive. For Survivor Pool purposes, this was my third choice of games this week. Anyway, there should be plenty of offense from both teams.

Browns at Ravens: Baltimore should run well in this game, which is good since they are so severely banged up at receiver. (Aside: I have one team with Dez Bryant, Sammy Watkins, Steve Smith, Jordan Reed and Andrew Luck all hurt. Crazy!) Justin Forsett should be big and busy, I'd start Kamar Aiken because somebody has to catch passes. For Cleveland, uh, Duke Johnson and Travis Benjamin are the players I'd consider here.

Seahawks at Bengals: No Marshawn Lynch. I'm not overly excited about Thomas Rawls here; maybe he's not good enough, maybe the line isn't, maybe both. I think it will be a low-scoring game and the only guys I'd really be eager to start are A.J. Green, Tyler Eifert and maybe Jimmy Graham. I like Bernard more than Jeremy Hill in this matchup.

Rams at Packers: I'm all in on Todd Gurley, and I think I am chancing Tavon Austin somewhere as the more or less No. 1 in St. Louis right now. Rams have a great defense but I'm starting the usual Packers: Rodgers, Lacy, Cobb, Jones. Not a week to use the Rams defense. If Gurley is for real maybe the Rams have a chance of controlling the clock and sneaking away with an upset. Not likely, though.

Bears at Kansas City: This is my second favorite Survivor Pool pick. Bears are down just about everyone but Cutler, Forte and Bennett. No Jeffery, it sounds like, and no Royal either perhaps. Rough. Kansas City should have a nice game moving the ball and their defense can cause problems for a target-short offense. Jeremy Maclin and Travis Kelce and Jamaal Charles, obviously.

Saints at Eagles: If the Eagles can't get their ground game going this week, they never will. I have Murray and Mathews in one league and I'm starting Murray, and just hoping. Sproles, too, against his former team, though I'd be using him in PPR regardless and just hoping he gets a bunch of chances. Things also look good for the Saints passing game. One more chance for Cooks, for me. Brees and Ingram, sure. Spiller and Snead, less appealing but I'd consider them in PPR.

Jaguars at Buccaneers: Pretty sure I'm using T.J. Yeldon in a daily league somewhere. Bucs have a poor defense and the Jaguars want to run and should be able to. Jags better against the run than pass, I'd happily use Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans. Better career: Blake Bortles, Jameis Winston, neither? I'd take Bortles first, I think.

Bills at Titans: Anthony Dixon, Cierre Wood and Dan Herron are your top three Buffalo running backs. I think Dixon is the guy to count on and in deeper leagues, go ahead and take your chances. It's not clear if Sammy Watkins will be available. A remarkable number of good players hurt these days. For the Titans, if you use anyone but Kendall Wright and Delanie Walker, you're grasping at straws. The bye week isn't that bad, is it?

Cardinals at Lions: These teams are relatively healthy at the skill positions. The Cardinals have all their running backs available, making it tough to get too excited about any of them. Chris Johnson No. 1, Andre Ellington some PPR value (although I'd like to see him get through a game healthy). For the Lions, you're using Calvin and Golden and hoping they get that passing game going. Ameer Abdullah. You know, I don't think they gave him the ball enough against Seattle. There were some near miss plays early on. Gotta give the guy touches. All of them won't be home runs, but if he gets the ball enough in space, one or two will be. Lining him up in the backfield and counting on there being a big hole with no blocking from the tight end; that doesn't work. Brandon Pettigrew being back should help him. Jim Caldwell will be fired at the end of the season.

Patriots at Cowboys: I don't take road teams in Survivor Pools, but I'd be stunned if New England didn't win this game. There's just no way a Brandon Weeden led offense will keep up with the Patriots. Usual Patriots start. For Dallas, I bet all three running backs will be involved. Jason Witten, Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley will be the main receivers, though Williams' general lack of production makes it hard to really want to use him.

Broncos at Raiders: Nice matchup for the Denver offense. No noteworthy injuries and they're in my lineup. Terrible matchup for the Raiders offense. I'm using Latavius Murray somewhere because I have to, and would be OK using Amari Cooper, but it's not a good situation for these guys.

49ers at Giants: I've made the Giants my top pick of the week to win, and I've also recommended them to others. I'm preparing for the possibility of being disappointed. But I've seen both these teams play all year long, and the Giants defense is better than expected and the 49ers offense is just. plain. bad. I would not start Carlos Hyde. I would not use any San Francisco players. For the Giants, I'd avoid their running back committee, but the passing game should be a-OK.

Steelers at Chargers: Whenever these teams play I think of old-school, growing up watching Dan Fouts lead the Chargers and Terry Bradshaw running the Steelers. It's a fun Monday game, or would be moreso if we had Roethlisberger instead of the aging, creaky, fumble-prone Michael Vick. Sounds like Martavis Bryant needs another week before he'll be out there. I'm using Antonio Gates, though, right off the bat. Woodhead over Gordon. Philip Rivers and Keenan Allen, you bet. Brown and Bell. Lot of fun players to watch in this game, and should be plenty of offense.

Enjoy the games.
