Austin Seferian-Jenkins spent most of the offseason and preseason in the coaching staff's doghouse. He won't have a problem with them anymore; the Bucs waived him on Friday.

Seferian-Jenkins was arrested for DUI overnight, and that was apparently the final straw. He's been released, and Luke Stocker is hurt, so what had been a four-player situation at tight end is now just Cameron Brate and Brandon Myers.

Brate starts to look more compelling as a fantasy prospect. Through two games, Brate (6 catches), Seferian-Jenkins (3) and Myers (1) had caught 10 passes for 94 yards and 2 TDs. Brate shouldn't have much competition for targets now, with Stocker and Myers more blocker types.

Brate had been on the field for 41 percent of the plays through the first two games. Seferian-Jenkins had played on 36 percent of the offensive snaps. Seems reasonable to think Brate will now be out there in the neighborhood of 75 percent of the time, making him a more interesting option at the position. Bucs threw 2 TDs to tight ends against Atlanta, who they face against in Week 9. They face the Saints in Weeks 14 and 16.

As for Seferian-Jenkins, let's see if he ends up somewhere. The guy was an intriguing prospect coming out of college, drafted 38th overall in 2014. If he gets the legal troubles behind him and sorts out whatever personal stuff seemed to annoy Dirk Koetter, not unreasonable to think he'll have fantasy value again.

Just, not in Tampa Bay.
