I don’t think the Seahawks are going to re-sign Steven Hauschka. They’ve signed Blair Walsh to a contract worth $1.1 million, and I think their plan is to save a few bucks at the position – they’ll go with either Walsh or some other cheaper option.

Hauschka made over $3.5 million last year. He’s better than Walsh, but it would be nice to have an extra $2 million to work with to fill other needs.

I don’t know that Hauschka will be able to earn another $3.5 million this year. He’s dipped a little the last two years, with 10 missed extra points (including 6 in the 2016 season). But he’s a good, proven kicker with a strong leg, and he’ll find some team that’s willing to throw some money his way.

Hauschka has connected only 62 of 68 field goals over the last two years, including all seven of his attempts over 50 yards.

He’s been good on 87 percent of his career field goals, and that’s No. 3 among active kickers with at least 100 attempts.
