There were 15 defensive and special teams touchdowns scored in Week 6, bringing the season total to 42 -- so more than a third of the season total came in just one week. That puts the NFL on pace for 119 such touchdowns this season.

If they maintain that pace, teams will establish the highest total of such scores since the 2013 season. That would be well above 2016, when teams combined for the lowest number of defensive and special teams touchdowns in nearly 30 years (97).

Table shows total defensive and special teams touchdowns by team thus far this season, as well as projected (how they'll finish in 16 games if they maintain their current pace).
