Question

The Texans, Jaguars and Panthers are the league's youngest franchises (all are under 30 years old). Setting those three aside, what are the only three franchises which haven't drafted a Hall of Fame player in the first round since before the merger?

Answer

The Cardinals, Eagles and Broncos. Denver had John Elway, of course -- a No. 1 overall pick -- but he was chosen by the Colts. Broncos last used a first-round pick on a Hall of Famer in 1967, with Floyd Little. Cardinals last picked one (in the first round) with defensive back Roger Wehrli in 1969. Eagles go back to 1964 with tackle Bob Brown. Jets date back to 1971 (John Riggins), and Patriots clock in at 1976 (Mike Haynes).
