It's Sunday morning, and the injury updates are filtering in. Probably the biggest news, though, came out last night, involving LeVeon Bell. Tuesday is the deadline for him to report if he wants to play this season. ESPN's Adam Schefter says his league sources are saying they don't expect Bell to show.

There's been a lot of inaccurate reporting along the way, some of it from people guessing, reading tea leaves, wanting to be first with the story. So we won't know for certain until the deadline comes and goes.

It only took a couple of months, with millions of dollars at stake for various parties, for somebody to do a close read of the CBA and determine that Pittsburgh would need to franchise Bell at the quarterback level ($25 million plus) even if he sits out the entire year. They're not going to do that, so Bell's going to be a free agent. (Somebody apparently believes Pittsburgh will use the transition tag, giving them the right to match any offer, but that's ludicrous -- they gain nothing besides the ability to match a contract they have no desire to match. Won't happen.) May as well sit out as opposed to risking showing up and tearing an Achilles in practice, a la Dez Bryant.

In other news....

  • Sony Michel and Rob Gronkowski both traveled with the Patriots to Tennessee. Michel is expected to play, Gronkowski less certain (somebody reported yesterday he'd be out, another shining moment in sports journalism). We'll know by noon Eastern if they'll be active.
  • Sammy Watkins (foot) is not expected to play, putting Chris Conley on the map as a possible streamer.

  • Kerryon Johnson (ankle) is expected to play, albeit with a tough matchup at Chicago.

  • David Njoku (knee/rib) is expected to play for Cleveland.

  • Giovani Bernard (knee) will be available as a change-of-pace for Joe Mixon, including taking some passing downs work. But Mixon should still be featured; only a slight drag on his value.

  • The Colts should get Ryan Grant (ankle) back, though debatable whether he'd have much of a role; not a fantasy option.

  • It's not certain that Joe Flacco (hip) will miss time, so hope you didn't blow the waiver budget on Lamar Jackson.

  • After missing multiple weeks with a hamstring injury, Darren Sproles is expected to miss multiple more weeks with a hamstring injury. It's OK to move on from Sproles, who seems a poor bet to get/stay healthy.
