What if I told you Patrick Mahomes was going to face the hardest pass-defense schedule in the league? Would that affect where you would rank him?

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of using specific strength-of-schedule data (looking at just pass defenses or run defenses). I don’t give it any weight in my rankings. But some people like it. So in the dog days of June, I’ll throw up a few charts.

On this one, I’m looking at strength of schedule, but with it tailored to passing. You take the passing yards and passing touchdowns allowed by each team last year. You plug them into the 2019 schedule and calculate which teams should play the easiest and hardest schedules.

I’m using standard scoring, with 6 points for touchdowns and 1 for every 10 yards.

Looks like the Cardinals, Jaguars and Panthers should play the easiest schedules.

Kansas City, Denver and Cincinnati should play the hardest.
