Falcons add kicker Walsh

The Atlanta Falcons signed kicker BLAIR WALSH on Saturday to compete with struggling kicker GIORGIO TAVECCHIO. Tavecchio has made only 4 of 8 field goals during the exhibition season. Walsh wasMore a sixth-round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings in the 2012 NFL Draft. Walsh was named All-Pro as a rookie, but his career went sideways after he missed a potential game-winning kick in the 2015 playoffs. If Walsh can beat out Tavecchio, he will open the season against his former team as the Falcons play the Vikings on September 8th in Minnesota. Less

Around the NFL: Seattle Seahawks

Seahawks sign PK Walsh

The Seattle Seahawks signed kicker BLAIR WALSH last week, likely meaning that free-agent-to-be kicker STEVEN HAUSCHKA will be moving on. Hauschka turns 32 in June and is a much more expensiveMore option than Walsh. Given Walsh’s recent struggles however, it is likely that the Seahawks will bring in another kicker to compete with him in training camp. Less

Forbath leads Vikings with 4 field goals

Since taking over for struggling kicker BLAIR WALSH, new Vikings kicker KAI FORBATH has been perfect on his field goal attempts. He continued his perfectionist ways against Jacksonville on Sunday byMore connecting on all four attempts, hitting from 32, 40, 43, and 46 yards. While Forbath did miss his second extra point since joining the team, fantasy owners will likely forgive him. Less

Vikings finally give Walsh the boot

The Minnesota Vikings waived struggling kicker BLAIR WALSH on Tuesday and plan to replace him with former Washington kicker KAI FORBATH. Forbath was one of six kickers to work out forMore the Vikings last week, although the team decided to stick with Walsh at the time. If Forbath can avoid the struggles Walsh encountered, he should have some fantasy value. Less
