Morris expected to start for Cowboys

Cowboys preparing for life without Elliott

Around the NFL: Jones gives nod to Morris if Elliott out

The Ezekiel Elliott suspension is back on, at least until another appeal delays it again. Cowboys sign veteran RB Hillman

The Dallas Cowboys have signed veteran running back RONNIE HILLMAN to provide depth in their backfield. Hillman has some third-down running back traits and it’s likely he will be used inMore that type of role. Cowboys work out running backs Robinson, Hillman

While the Dallas Cowboys wait to hear the fate of running back EZEKIEL ELLIOTT, the team worked out former Jaguar DENARD ROBINSON and former Bronco RONNIE HILLMAN. Dallas lost LANCE DUNBARMore to the Rams this offseason but they still have DARREN MCFADDEN and ALFRED MORRIS on the roster as backups. It’s hard to imagine either Robinson or Hillman making much of a fantasy impact with the depth on the current roster in Dallas. Less

Cowboys could trade RB Morris

Dallas backup running back ALFRED MORRIS may be on the trading block, as he is not viewed as a good third-down option and he is the type of back that needsMore carries to be effective and productive. The Cowboys appear interested in keeping DARREN MCFADDEN and LANCE DUNBAR, although both are currently unrestricted free agents. Less

Expect less Elliott, more McFadden for Cowboys vs. Eagles

Dallas rookie sensation EZEKIEL ELLIOTT is expected to start against Philadelphia on Sunday but he will not likely see a high number of snaps. Elliott is 177 yards shy of surpassingMore Eric Dickerson’s 33-year-old NFL rookie rushing record but he has stated that he’s not concerned about the record. It sounds like DARREN MCFADDEN will handle the bulk of the work once Elliott comes out of the game. Less

Cowboys activate RB McFadden

The Dallas Cowboys activated running back DARREN MCFADDEN on Tuesday, six months after he underwent offseason surgery on his right elbow. With rookie EZEKIEL ELLIOTT, backup ALFRED MORRIS, and third-down backMore LANCE DUNBAR already in place, McFadden likely won’t have much of a role for the Cowboys and he certainly shouldn’t be counted on for fantasy purposes.
