Lions sign veteran wideout
The Detroit Lions signed veteran wide receiver JERMAINE KEARSE this week. Kearse is an eight-year NFL veteran who will likely provide depth to the Lions wide receiving corps. Kearse spent most of his career with the Seattle Seahawks and the New York Jets before taking his talents to Motown.

Around the NFL: Jets wide receivers
I’m guessing some receiver on the Jets will prove to be a good fantasy value. Robby Anderson, Jermaine Kearse, Terrelle Pryor and Quincy Enunwa weren’t coveted draft picks entering the league (at least not as wide receivers) but all have shown some potential. more »

Factoid: Kearse looking surprisingly decent
Jermaine Kearse has been one of the most surprising players in the first two weeks. I thought the Seahawks would just cut him; he’s been that bad for them. But the Jets wanted him in a trade, and he’s turned out to be better than I ever would have expected. more »

Seahawks trade for DL Sheldon Richardson
The Seattle Seahawks have traded wide receiver JERMAINE KEARSE and two draft picks for former New York Jets defensive lineman SHELDON RICHARDSON. With second-round pick MALIK MCDOWELL injured, Richardson should step right in and further strengthen an already solid fantasy defense.

Ian Allan: Seattle Seahawks
I think it’s time for the Seahawks to move on from Jermaine Kearse. He’s had some notable postseason catches for them (including game-winning touchdowns in two NFC Championship games and that weird juggling catch against New England in the Super Bowl) but overall he’s just not good enough. more »

Factoid: Goal-line receiving
I’ve got the inside-the-10 receiving stats in front of me, and a couple of names stand out. Cameron Brate and Rishard Matthews, believe it or not, were statistically the most effective players in that part of the field. And plenty of notable names underperformed. more »
