Saints TE Graham returns to practice

New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen said on Wednesday that veteran tight end JIMMY GRAHAM “had a good day” in his first day back at practice. Graham returned less thanMore a week after experiencing a “medical episode” that ended with him disoriented and wandering the streets of Southern California. Graham was a star player for the Saints from 2010 to 2014 but did not play football last season. The 36-year-old returned to New Orleans on a surprise one-year contract signed on the first day of training camp. Less

Factoid: Jimmy Graham, Part II

Yesterday I ran a fairly unflattering item on Jimmy Graham, pointing out that he hasn't been a big part of the passing game for three different teams in the last four seasons. And that's true, and maybe the Bears could do better things with the money they're paying him in 2021. But in fairness, the guy is pretty good at scoring touchdowns.   more »

Factoid: Jimmy Graham

A few weeks back the Bears released cornerback Kyle Fuller, much to the benefit of the Denver Broncos, who immediately signed him. Chicago needed the cap room, so they didn't have much choice in the matter. But it's harder to explain why they still have Jimmy Graham on their roster.   more »

Graham to start at TE for Bears

After falling short of expectations in Green Bay, veteran tight end JIMMY GRAHAM is expected to lead the way at the position for the Chicago Bears this season. Chicago selected COLEMore KMET in the second round of April’s NFL Draft, but Graham will be the starter. Last year, no Bears tight end totaled more than 14 catches or 91 receiving yards. Nowhere to go but up for Graham. Less

Factoid: Tight ends

If you’re looking for tight ends who’ve not only caught a lot of balls but have been effective at putting the ball in the end zone, some of the best to ever play the game are playing right now.  more »

Factoid: Jimmy Graham

I've done a couple of slow, best-ball drafts lately. Twenty-eight rounds, and they're tight end premium -- that position gets a point and a half per catch. So you might think there'd be some interest in Jimmy Graham, who the Bears signed to a two-year, $16 million contract. But no.   more »

Bears release oft-injured TE Burton

The Chicago Bears released 28-year-old tight end TREY BURTON late last week. After a career year in 2018, Burton struggled with injuries while disappointing the Bears and his fantasy owners alongMore the way. The team did sign former All-Pro tight end JIMMY GRAHAM early in free agency, but he might not be much of an upgrade after two disappointing seasons in Green Bay. Less

Around the NFL: Bad news Bears

Bill O’Brien has pretty much sewn up the title as the league’s worst GM. Tough to outdo giving away one of the game’s very best receivers for a second-round pick and a bad running back contract. But Ryan Pace is making a little noise himself in the Windy City.  more »

Bears sign veteran TE Graham

With the top options at the position quickly signing deals with new teams, the Chicago Bears agreed to a two-year $16 million deal with former Green Bay Packers tight end JIMMY GRAHAM. The Packers moved on from Graham after two disappointing seasons in Green Bay.

Around the NFL: Packers axe Graham

The Packers released Jimmy Graham yesterday, as expected. Old (in NFL terms) and expensive, there was no chance the team would bring him back. His production has been declining, and Green Bay has other options in-house.   more »
