Around the NFL: JuJu Smith-Schuster

The drumbeat of DeAndre Hopkins potentially signing with the Patriots seems to be increasing. There's a story saying how he gets along fine with former Texans coach (and current New England OC) Bill O'Brien. And there's concern that presumed No. 1 JuJu Smith-Schuster may not be healthy.   more »

Kansas City brings back WR Watson

Kansas City is planning to bring back one of their own free agent wide receivers, re-signing wideout JUSTIN WATSON to a two-year contract worth up to $6 million. The former fifth-roundMore pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers caught just 15 passes for 315 yards and 2 touchdowns while appearing in 17 regular season games for Kansas City last season. With fellow wideouts JUJU SMITH-SCHUSTER and MECOLE HARDMAN departing this offseason via free agency, Watson should have every opportunity to exceed last year’s modest totals. Less

Skyy the limit for Kansas City WR Moore?

Kansas City offense banged up heading into Super Bowl

Kansas City quarterback PATRICK MAHOMES was limping badly by the end of Sunday’s AFC Championship game and will likely use the two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl for restMore and recovery. The same can be said for tight end TRAVIS KELCE, who played through remnants of back spasms that left him limited on Sunday. A trio of wideouts will also benefit from the additional recovery time, including KADARIUS TONEY (ankle), JUJU SMITH-SCHUSTER (knee), and MECOLE HARDMAN (pelvis). All three watched the dramatic conclusion of Sunday’s game from the sideline. Less

Factoid: Kansas City

Patrick Mahomes threw 41 touchdowns in the regular season, and he did it without any of the wide receivers on his team catching more than 4 touchdowns. Kansas City doesn’t use that position much inside the red zone. More commonly, Kansas City has featured Travis Kelce and Jerick McKinnon around the goal line. Kelce has caught 12 touchdowns (plus 2 more in the playoffs), while McKinnon has caught 9.   more »

Mahomes threw eachMore of his touchdowns to four different receivers, spreading the ball around against the Jaguars. Newcomer KADARIUS TONEY looks like he is getting acclimated to the offense, but fellow wide receiver JUJU SMITH-SCHUSTER left the game early on a hard hit that landed him in the concussion protocol.
