Patriots cut WR Britt, not interested in Bryant

The New England Patriots released veteran wide receiver KENNY BRITT on Wednesday. The team is also reportedly not interested in free agent wideout DEZ BRYANT. While the Patriots have a slew of receivers that could provide fantasy value, Britt and Bryant will not be among them.

Around the NFL: Malcolm Mitchell

There was a story yesterday that the Patriots were shopping Malcolm Mitchell. An initial view, colored by the national respect for the Patriots and all their doings, was that they were overloaded with talent at wide receiver and simply didn't have room for him. Turns out they were shopping damaged goods.   more »

Patriots pick up option on WR Britt

The New England Patriots have picked up the option on wideout KENNY BRITT, who joined the team late last season and played sparingly. Britt returns to a receiving corps that hasMore some uncertainty, with DANNY AMENDOLA set to become a free agent next week and ROB GRONKOWSKI refusing to rule out retirement. Less

Factoid: Transplanted wide receivers

Pierre Garcon and Terrelle Pryor are on injured reserve. The Browns have released Kenny Britt. And I am reminded of the low success rate when trying to latch onto transplanted wide receivers. Lots more misses than hits at this position in free agency.   more »

Around the NFL: Kenny Britt looks like Browns' top dog

Kenny Britt or Corey Coleman. I’ve been going back and forth and Cleveland’s wide receivers. Which one will be better? (And does either one have much of a chance of posting viable numbers?) I have now settled on my guy.  more »

Trivia: August 8, 2017

Terrelle Pryor finished last season with 1,007 yards, and he managed that total despite playing for a team ranking 27th in passing. But other receivers have actually done more with even less. What three active receivers have gone over 1,000 yards while playing for offenses ranking no higher than 30th in passing? answer »

Factoid: Cleveland Browns

I like the fit of Kenny Britt in Cleveland. Nice signing, I think. He’s an underrated player.   more »

Around the NFL: Cleveland Browns

The Browns have signed Kenny Britt to a four-year deal worth $32.5 million, and I like the move. Given the situation he was in, Britt was one of the league’s more impressive receivers last year.  more »

Factoid: Kenny Britt

The 2009 NFL Draft featured six wide receivers being taken in the first round. Early on, Hakeem Nicks and Percy Harvin looked like the two shiniest gems from that class. In 2017, though, those players are out of the league, while three other first-rounders are enjoying the more noteworthy careers.   more »

Trivia: January 5, 2017

Two different wide receivers went over 200 yards against Green Bay this year but didn't reach 1,000 for the season (Marvin Jones and Adam Thielen). Who are the only other three active wide receivers who've done this? Two are on their second franchises. All three didn't play in Week 17 because of injuries (two spent most of the year on IR, and the other was just hurt). answer »

Fantasy News: Receiving inside the 10-yard line

Only four players have been involved in over a third of their team’s pass plays inside the 10-yard line. No surprise with Odell Beckham Jr. or Kyle Rudolph (who’s remarkably stayed healthy this year). Allen Robinson has got a ton of looks but hasn’t had a great year – dragged down on a sinking ship. But the fourth receiver might surprise you.   more »
