Around the NFL: Leonard Fournette

It’s looking like Leonard Fournette will be showing up at camp well over his optimal playing weight, and that should have everyone putting more thought into using later-round picks on Rachaad White and KeShawn Vaughn. Most likely one of those guys will be starting some games.   more »

Factoid: Third-round running backs

Story this week that KeShawn Vaughn didn't show up to offseason workouts in Tampa Bay. They're voluntary, but as anyone who has played sports at any level is aware, all voluntary or optional activities aren't necessarily voluntary or optional. Bruce Arians gave a quote suggesting disappointment, and as anyone who drafted him last year is aware, Vaughn had a disappointing rookie season.  more »

Around the NFL: Tampa running backs

The Bucs just won a Super Bowl, but it was primarily due to their defense and their top-5 passing game. Investing in their bottom-5 running game a year ago didn't really pay off, and it probably won't in 2021, either. If anything things might be worse.   more »

Factoid: Third-round running backs

In the comments of yesterday's draft thread, there was some discussion of rookie running backs, the ones outside the biggest names. Around the NFL: Devonta Freeman

Will it be Ronald Jones or KeShawn Vaughn in Tampa Bay’s backfield? Maybe neither. Reports suggest the Buccaneers have at least some interest in Devonta Freeman.  more »

Factoid: Bucs running backs

Tom Brady built a Hall of Fame career out of lots of things, but one of the biggest ones from the very start was leaning on a running back to bail him out of third-and-long situations. Now he's in Tampa Bay, where he'll be looking for his next J.R. Redmond, Kevin Faulk or James White to save the day. Who will it be?  more »

Fantasy News: Rookie running backs

Are we going to see an unheralded rookie running back make a big impact? On the one hand, it seems unlikely. You look at any one of these prospects individually, and the chances of success aren’t great. Yet, it seems to happen most years.  more »
