Factoid: Zach Ertz

I’m not a big fan of Zach Ertz (signed by Washington as a possibility at tight end). He’s 33, he’s had injuries the last two years, and I think it’s over for him.   more »

Around the NFL: Zach Ertz

I’m not a big Zach Ertz fan. With him being 33, I’m not sure he’s got much of anything left. He asked for his release from the Cardinals late last year, hoping to sign with a playoff team, but couldn’t find anyone who wanted him.   more »

Around the NFL: Commanders tap Kingsbury

The Commanders are bringing in Kliff Kingsbury to serve as their offensive coordinator, and a skeptic might ask if any consideration was given to signing him for only the first half of the season. All of his previous teams have fizzled late in the year.   more »

Cardinals fire head coach Kingsbury

The Arizona Cardinals fired head coach Kliff Kingsbury on Monday morning, with owner Michael Bidwill saying that it was “just time for a change”. Factoid: Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals have sputtered to a 3-6 record, and I don’t think they’re going to flip things around anytime soon. Their next two are against the Rams and 49ers, and those are defenses that have given them problems.   more »

Factoid: Goal-line passing

Kyler Murray would like to sign an extension before the start of the season, and I imagine the Cardinals will give it him. But they might have some nervousness about how much money they want to tie up in him at this point.  more »

Around the NFL: Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray isn’t attending Arizona’s voluntary offseason workouts. I don’t know that they’ll see him before training camp. This isn’t necessarily a huge deal, but it has me wondering how much better he might be in 2022.   more »

There could be a standoff brewing between Kyler Murray and the Cardinals. He apparently wants a new contract, and the team might not be ready to commit to him long-term with a giant contract. But at this point, it’s too early to say with any certainty what exactly is going on.  more »

Factoid: Run-heavy Arizona

The Rams aren’t a cupcake matchup, but I sure like James Conner a lot. He’s been playing well, and I like the way that offense operates in the red zone – year after year.  more »
