Free agent kicker Bryant could return to Bucs

Free agent kicker MATT BRYANT was recently released by the Atlanta Falcons, but he thinks he still has a few good years remaining and is not considering retirement. Bryant said this week that a return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is “definitely an option”.

Factoid: Extra points

Falcons cut Matt Bryant

The Atlanta Falcons cut kicker MATT BRYANT, who was with the team for ten seasons. Bryant, who will turn 44 in May, said he doesn’t plan to retire. Atlanta is expected to keep GIORGIO TAVECCHIO, who filled-in nicely last season while Bryant was out with an injury.

Bryant to return for Falcons

Atlanta kicker MATT BRYANT will return to action when the Falcons host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Bryant has been out with an injury, with GIORGIO TAVECCHIO filling in admirably during his absence. The Falcons are actually expected to keep both kickers, possibly through the end of the season.

Bryant appears ready to return for Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. GIORGIO TAVECCHIO handled place-kicking duties while Bryant was out but his fantasy days appear to be numbered.

Falcons sign new kicker

The Atlanta Falcons announced on Tuesday that they have signed kicker GIORGIO TAVECCHIO. Pro Bowl kicker MATT BRYANT injured his hamstring while kicking a 57-yard field goal on Sunday. No word just yet on how long Bryant might be out of action.

With older kickers, you would figure they would fade away – Adam Vinatieri, Matt Bryant, Phil Dawson. They’re all in the 40s, but they haven’t been declining.   more »
