Seattle rookie has career day

With Seattle running back CHRIS CARSON inactive for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, backup MIKE DAVIS got the start. Rookie RB Penny forgotten man in Seahawks backfield

So much for that RASHAAD PENNY sleeper pick that looked so good on draft night. Seattle is finally getting its running game in gear but the first-round rookie has not beenMore a part of the action. With seventh-round pick CHRIS CARSON and fourth-round pick MIKE DAVIS leading the Seahawks backfield, it could be a while before Penny has much fantasy relevance. Less

Injuries open door for Seattle RB Prosise

Seattle running back C.J. PROSISE will likely get some additional reps with fellow backs RASHAAD PENNY and MIKE DAVIS dealing with injuries. Penny is out with a broken finger while DavisMore is dealing with a sore big toe. There is a bit of irony in Prosise getting more playing time due to injured teammates, considering that he had played just 11 of 32 games the last two seasons due to a litany of injuries of his own. Around the NFL: Bad Penny

Headline writers, they're the worst. But Seattle's top draft pick, a curious selection from the get-go, will miss "some time" due to a hand injury that includes a broken finger. Considering he was working firmly behind Chris Carson anyway, and the season is just 26 days away, you can pretty much forget him starting in Week 1.   more »

Around the NFL: Fast start for Barkley

When a rookie running back posts big numbers, can we look back at the preseason and agree that we should have seen it coming? Alvin Kamara and Ezekiel Elliott have ripped off big gainers in the preseason the last two years. But other rookies have finished with good numbers after looking pretty ordinary in the preseason.  more »
