It's the preseason and everyone looks good, of course, but there's some important information somewhere in the midst of all that hype. And considering the depth chart and quarterback in Atlanta, it makes sense to pay attention to reports about Leonard Hankerson.

The team website says Hankerson is one of the team's new additions who's really been standing out in training camp. Considering the team lost Harry Douglas in the offseason and that aging starter Roddy White concedes his knee had to be drained earlier this offseason and will be again during the season, it's a development to keep track of.

Hankerson's realistic competition for the No. 3 receiver job includes Devin Hester and rookie Justin Hardy. No reason to think he can't bring a little more to the table as a wideout than Hester and be readier to be a starter, if necessary, than Hardy. A starting wideout in Atlanta, should White have any physical issues, will have plenty of fantasy value.

The other guy drawing a lot of hype in Atlanta is veteran Jacob Tamme. It might seem safe to write off the little used tight end (the last couple of years, anyway), but Atlanta has a void at the position for a quality receiver (Levine Toilolo doesn't count) and somebody will take it. Tony Moeaki is the other candidate.

Back to Hankerson. He'll probably get a lot of play in the exhibitions with Julio Jones and White locked into those top 2 spots, health permitting. Will be interesting to see if the positive press carries over into those preseason games.
