For the second year in a row, there are a couple of quarterbacks who seem to be above the rest of the field in the upcoming draft. Cal's Jared Goff and North Dakota State's Casey Wentz, at least in the eyes of NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock, are on a par with Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota as prospects.

"I'm at the point now with both Wentz and Goff where I think they're every bit as good, if not better, than Winston and Mariota from a year ago as prospects," says Mayock.

A big statement, and not everyone feels that strongly about the duo. Wentz is from a smaller school, and neither quarterback has the resume of Heisman winners and national or near-national champions Winston and Mariota.

But when you consider that one year later, everyone basically agrees that the Bucs and Titans landed franchise quarterbacks to build around, it won't be a surprise if quarterbacks do go 1-2. The Titans, at No. 1, won't take one, but a trade down -- maybe even a short time prior to the draft, as happened with St. Louis and Washington in the Andrew Luck-RG III year -- is very possible.

There will be plenty of speculation and talk in the weeks to come. Right now, a 1-2 selection of Goff and Wentz (or Wentz and Goff) could happen.
