Question

Tennessee drafted Derrick Henry in the second round, and he put up pretty remarkable numbers in Alabama, including at one point carrying the ball 46 and 44 times in back-to-back games. In NFL history, who is the only player who carried the ball 45 times in a game? The player had a brother who as also an NFL running back (and the brother is much better known than this record holder).

Answer

Jamie Morris, carrying 45 times for Washington in a game that went into overtime at Cincinnati in December, 1988. The Bengals were really good that year -- lost in the Super Bowl against San Francisco a month later. Morris is the younger brother of Joe Morris, who had considerable success with the New York Giants.
