Right, it's Week 2 where everyone gets hurt. Thomas Rawls, Danny Woodhead, Jimmy Garoppolo, Ameer Abdullah, Jonathan Stewart, Adrian Peterson. Bad for them, bad way to lose a fantasy matchup and damage a season. Let's get to the wrapup.

49ers at Panthers: That's the 49ers defense we were expecting, so we can put aside them shutting out the Rams, I think. Cam Newton and company are really good; huge game for Olsen and Benjamin. Lots of teams will have huge games against San Francisco. Naturally Jonathan Stewart limped off with an injury, not getting to join in the fun, and Fozzy Whittaker rushed for 100 yards. Nothing here to see for the 49ers aside from Vance McDonald catching a long TD (his only catch) and Torrey Smith scoring (probably won't happen again for weeks). Ted Ginn Jr. had a long TD erased on a replay review.

Old Browns at New Browns: Breakout game for Corey Coleman, who was all over the place catching deep balls, short throws, and out-jumping taller players for contested passes. Nice day all-around for rookie wideouts with both Sterling Shepard and Will Fuller going over 100 yards too. Huge game for Isaiah Crowell, who again wasn't even drafted in a couple of my leagues (and drafted by me in the leagues he was drafted in). If he can go over 100 yards and score against the Ravens, he's going to have some nice games ahead. ... Good game from Mike Wallace and Joe Flacco, and Dennis Pitta piled up some points. Justin Forsett had a bad early run on a fourth and 2 play that I think 90 percent of the league's starting tailbacks would have picked up. When Kenneth Dixon is healthy, Forsett's gonna get cut again.

Titans at Lions: So this knocks me out of my suicide pool, or would have if we couldn't buy our way back in during the first three weeks. Whew! Still very annoying. The Lions had 3 TDs called back by penalties in this game, an Ameer Abdullah run (left with a foot injury) and passes by Matthew Stafford to Eric Ebron and Anquan Boldin. Ebron got caught with a pushoff and a hold, so he continues to disappoint in every way possible. ... Incredible 4th down Mariota to Andre Johnson TD with defenders draped all over him. Quiet game for Tajae Sharpe, TD for Delanie Walker, as Lions allowing TDs to tight ends continues. Big all-around game for DeMarco Murray.

Kansas City at Texans: So Houston is pretty good. Really good defense, and they're doing stuff with the draft and free agency that's gonna lead to GM of the year awards. Will Fuller looks great. He had another long sideline catch that was ruled out of bounds. Brock Osweiler is making it appear the Broncos should have paid him. Kansas City, meanwhile, seemed to run out of ideas in the red zone, settling for 4 field goals. Tough when you only have a couple of playmakers on offense, tops. Still the Spencer Ware show, including one nice downfield catch. Just a so-so game for Lamar Miller (83 yards, but just 3.3 per carry). Awesome touchdown by DeAndre Hopkins and nearly another, ruled out of the end zone after a challenge. Big game though. And they get New England's third-string QB next week, it sounds like.

Dolphins at Patriots: I was feeling pretty pleased with myself (mostly Ian, who was much higher on him than I was) for starting Jimmy Garoppolo in a daily league and winning big money. But then he got hurt, and that was it for his day. Good yardage and 3 TDs in a half, who knows what the rest of his game would have gone like. Anyway, Miami fell behind 31-3 and then made a game of it, with nice garbage numbers from Landry and Parker and touchdowns for Parker, Stills and even Jordan Cameron. Garbage-time points count too. TD run by Kenyan Drake, after Arian Foster got hurt (shocker) and Jay Ajayi lost a fumble (double shocker). We'll see who starts there next wee. Big games for Blount (who turned in one of those cool hurdles he first introduced way back in his rookie season) and Bennett; just a points bonanza all the way around. New England probably loses in Houston next week, but Brady might well come back to a 3-1 team.

Saints at Giants: If you ever think you can count on anything in the NFL, we have this game with one offensive touchdown after they played a 52-49 game a year ago. Giants can't run the ball, so the question is if the Saints defense is improved or if it just looks OK against offenses that can't run it. They're playing the Falcons next week, and those two teams have had some unusually lower-scoring games at times in recent years. Just saying. ... Although no TDs, good catch/yardage games from Beckham, Shepard and Cruz. Larry Donnell dropped a touchdown. Beckham dropped a pass down the sideline that would probably have gone for a touchdown. Shepard looked great. Saints 0-2 and probably headed for a long year.

Bengals at Steelers: Antonio Brown and A.J. Green both under 40 receiving yards with no touchdowns. Hope you were facing them rather than starting them. Naturally Ben Roethlisberger throws 3 TDs anyway, one to a backup tight end named Xavier Grimble. Who I'd never heard of. Couple of big grabs by Sammie Coates and a real dud by Eli Rogers. Oh well. Tyler Boyd (6 for 78) kept the big rookie receiver day going. DeAngelo Williams scored, catching a touchdown. Naturally. Jeremy Hill ran better than his stat line looked, but not surprising he didn't do much in the matchup.

Cowboys at Washington: I guess the big story is Ezekiel Elliott losing a couple of fumbles and having a touchdown vultured by Alfred Morris against his former team. But whatever, Elliott has a whole lot of job security in Dallas and I'm not worried. Another erratic game from Kirk Cousins, with an end-zone pick that ultimately led to Dallas' winning touchdown drive and a few other errant throws. If you can throw for 364 yards and not look good, that was Cousins. A nice touchdown throw to Jamison Crowder, anyway. Matt Jones looked pretty good in this game, starting to think Dallas' run defense isn't particularly good. A 100-yard game for Dez Bryant, so people can relax I hope. Cole Beasley is happening too, got held in the end zone to set up an Elliott TD run.

Buccaneers at Cardinals: And that's why you can't make too much out of one week. The Cardinals looked like one of the league's elite team, the Bucs looked like the Bucs. Doug Martin left with a hamstring injury, we'll see. Big game for the Arizona passing offense and for David Johnson (though he didn't score what with getting an early seat). Bucs didn't do much, tough with all the turnovers. Moving on.

Seahawks at Rams: I'm going to pass on this eyesore. Things will get better for Todd Gurley (they really can't get much worse). But I wouldn't go out of my way to buy low right now, either.

Colts at Broncos: Fairly entertaining game, but not if you started any Colts. They can't protect their quarterback and can't play defense, which is a really bad combo. Broncos have a great defense and can win a lot of games with a conservative offense and C.J. Anderson. Donte Moncrief left early with a concussion and was missed, or maybe it didn't really matter. Indy made a game of it with Andrew Luck and a really sweet touchdown reception by Frank Gore, but Denver's defense kept making plays. Virgil Green in a walking boot after the game.

Falcons at Raiders: I've only seen the highlights of this one so far. I know Amari Cooper missed out on a long touchdown because he stepped/was pushed out of bounds before coming in to catch it. Tevin Coleman scored and was targeted on another pass near the goal line, so the committee remains. And the Raiders defense, uh, isn't quite there yet, because that's two weeks of getting torched by capable quarterbacks. Another pretty decent game for Derek Carr anyway.

Jaguars at Chargers: Can't say I didn't think Philip Rivers would be just fine this week. Started him over Aaron Rodgers, and might the next two weeks too. Which...makes me wish I hadn't drafted Rodgers. But whatever. Jaguars currently No. 2 on the defenses who are really disappointing so far, along with Oakland. Maybe next week is when Allen Robinson wakes up. Danny Woodhead hurt, the Chargers just can't keep their players healthy. And Dontrelle Inman did zip. Maybe against the Colts and Saints the next two weeks, when many San Diego players should be starting.

Packers at Vikings: Take that, don't bench your studs people. OK, Aaron Rodgers did still come through with a couple of total touchdowns, but he did have problems with this defense, as expected. Thrilling finish with the Vikings nearly intercepting him once and then getting him the next play, then picking up a key first down via penalty on a pass play (when most coaches would have run it into the line and given the ball back to Rodgers with a minute left ("Ooh, but he has no timeouts!"). Congrats, Mike Zimmer. Adrian Peterson knee injury. Lot of "we'll see" on these injuries this week.

Monday, Monday: Well, if Alshon Jeffery gets fewer than 4 points I win. So basically I need him to hobble off with an injury before he catches one 30-yard pass. I would never root for an injury, exactly, but fortunately I don't have any power over such things so it really doesn't matter. I'd like to win, but I'll just hope for a staunch defensive effort. Anyway, I'm impressed and all by Carson Wentz, my top dynasty rookie QB, but I'm expecting some growing pains here. Doesn't mean the Bears will necessarily win, but I'll pick it anyway. Chicago 23, Philadelphia 17.
