Most are expecting a shootout on Monday night in the Superdome (the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, that is). But both sides have a banged up elite receiver.
Julio Jones is about as good as anyone at that position, but he suffered a calf injury late in the Oakland game. Jones didn’t practice at all on Thursday and Friday and was limited today. They’re calling him questionable.
Willie Snead has a toe injury, and the Saints are handling him the same way. He’s questionable, and he didn’t practice at all until putting in a limited workout today.
Most likely both of these wide receivers will be in uniform, but they might be used more as decoys than usual, with a few more balls going to other players that might normally go to them.
Both, however, are top-10 type wide receivers, so even as banged-up options (if they are even banged up), they still look like top-20 receivers for Week 3. Unless you’ve got a very solid replacement, probably best to just roll with them.
Also for the Saints, they’ll be without left tackle Terron Armstead (knee).
