There was a play early in the early Colts-Jaguars game where Jacksonsville picked up a first down on a throw to Allen Robinson. He got taken out on a helmet-to-helmet hit, which was flagged, but stood up and spun the ball, which drew an unsportsmanlike conduct flag. Penalties offset; still second down. I ask you; should spinning a football really offset a shot to the head from a linebacker? Since the play picked up a first down, the only team who suffered from the exchange was the offense. Where a guy spun. A football. Not the team whose linebacker led with his helmet. Sometimes the NFL is just stupid.

Jaguars versus Colts across the pond: 9:30 is too early for football. Saw Phillip Dorsett drop a pass that would have picked up a first, only to later catch a long touchdown. Kind of a hit or miss guy. T.Y. Hilton heavily targeted. Big game for Allen Robinson, good game finally for T.J. Yeldon. Thank heavens Allen Hurns, held to one 5-yard catch for most of the game, was able to shake a tackle and turn another short throw into a long touchdown, or he'd have had another dud game. Benched going forward, I think.

Panthers at Falcons: Super Bowl loser hangover, missing Josh Norman, whatever, Panthers are struggling on defense right now. Cam Newton concussed on an avoidable hit. Sweet TD catch by Greg Olsen. But the big story is the Falcons offense, they're just lighting up everyone right now. Big games for Ryan, Jones and Freeman. They look for real.

Raiders at Ravens: Can't relax watching either of these 3-1 teams. Big takeaway for me was that one of my favorite players, Steve Smith, still has plenty of game left. And Michael Crabtree is the latest in a long line of Raiders to have a nice second career with this team. Big game for Terrance West, begging the question of why exactly the Ravens re-signed Justin Forsett after "surprisingly" cutting the guy in the preseason. Congrats if you hung onto West, he should start another game or two or more. Raiders are using a committee at running back, mebbe it's not too late to trade Murray away.

Lions at Bears: So yeah, I figured the Lions would move the ball up and down the field on Chicago. Didn't happen. Golden Tate ran a poor route on a critical interception and got benched. Not enough that he's the No. 2, now he's not even a good start. Touchdown for Zach Miller, as expected. Big story was the strong game from Jordan Howard, who may now get to run with that starting job for a little while.

Titans at Texans: I'm going to regret passing on Will Fuller in dynasty for years to come, it appears. I did draft him in one of them, so there's that. Anyway, he's great, and it's working against DeAndre Hopkins (though I'd be looking to buy low there). Titans are just a mess, and it starts with Marcus Mariota (although probably the coaching staff will go first, that's how these things work). Nice day for DeMarco Murray, but that's it.

Bills at Patriots: The Patriots mystique takes a hit. Friend of mine was like, Patriot 3-1 without Tom Brady, I'll take it. And while it may be silver lining thinking (everyone thought they'd win today) it's true. They should roll next week no matter who they're facing. Oh, it's Cleveland, of course. LeSean McCoy and maybe even Robert Woods still have fantasy value in Buffalo, surprisingly enough. Rob Gronkowski and the Patriots need Brady back.

Seahawks at Jets: Jets now 1-3 and on the road against Pittsburgh and Arizona next two weeks. Eric Decker out, Matt Forte hurt in this game, not sure how serious. I know you're kicking yourself (or them what steered you wrong) for benching Russell Wilson, but hey, the guy has a sprained ankle and sprained knee and looked like Frankenstein moving around last week, so what are you gonna do. Seemed like the right call. Another good game for Christine Michael, I'll drop Rawls this week.

Browns at Washington: Browns had an early lead and those in survivor pools nationwide were kicking themselves. But they're the Browns and found a way to lose, in part due to a controversial officiating issue. Fantasy-wise, I'm pretty sure we were much higher on Isaiah Crowell then everyone, so that's working out well. Not a huge game for Terrelle Pryor but at least he scored. Big game, finally, for Jordan Reed, nice one for Kirk Cousins. DeSean Jackson gets left out of the fun.

Broncos at Bucs: Lotta weather they're having in Florida these days. Broncos defense is no joke and clearly worth sitting players down against. Denver's quarterback-friendly offense enabled them to lose Trevor Siemian to injury and not miss a beat. (QB-friendly to everyone but Mark Sanchez.) Vincent Jackson appears to be all done. Bucs defense is too.

Rams at Cardinals: The game that cut a swath through the Survivor Pool. People should have known better, I guess, but Carson Palmer getting knocked out was a factor. That's why gambling is bad, kids. Big game for John Brown, who almost had a touchdown to go with his big numbers but for a nice defensive play. Some costly turnovers by Arizona; good teams hurting themselves with mistakes. Another game with no running room for Todd Gurley...not sure that's going to change.

Saints at Chargers: Got kind of soft spot for the Chargers, so I feel bad the way they choked another game away. A 1-3 team that could easily be 3-1. A couple of soft turnovers let a team that scores on everyone wipe out a 13-point late lead. Melvin Gordon scored 2 TDs but hard to overlook his measly yards per carry. More of the same from the Saints, with stupid little plays that enable John Kuhn to score 3 -- 3! -- touchdowns that could have very easily been scored by Mark Ingram or anyone else on the roster. There was nothing surprising about Coby Fleener's big game last week against a TE-friendly Falcons defense, which is why there was nothing overly surprising about him having a dud game this week. Not a good player.

Cowboys at 49ers: Really nice game all around for the Cowboys offense. 49ers defense is poor and might have just lost NaVorro Bowman for the season, so keep starting guys against them. Pregame story about the Cowboys think Tony Romo might be back by Week 8. What's the rush? I'm not buying. Aren't they tired of bringing him back too soon from injury after last year? Plus now they have a viable alternative. Decent game from Carlos Hyde, Dallas vulnerable to run.

Kansas City at Steelers: Tough to figure the Steelers. Or maybe the Eagles, who blew them out last week, are simply that good. Anyway Pittsburgh's offense humming on all cylinders. Sammie Coates looks like clear No. 2. LeVeon Bell looks fantastic -- hope he can stay healthy. Worth waiting for, right? Pittsburgh is pretty good. Kansas City, well, they've got some offensive issues. Gonna need to figure out how to handle the running backs. They're just a little lacking in offensive creativity. If you can match up with Kelce and Maclin they don't bring much to the table.

Monday, Monday: Couple of people are starting Orleans Darkwa against me and don't have Rashad Jennings available in case he's active, which seems odd to me. Guess we'll see. I expect the Giants to give the Vikings a game but am not underestimating that defense. I need about 15-20 PPR points out of Odell Beckham Jr. and think it's possible but not certain. End of the day though I expect the Vikings to get a 27-23 win...Giants can alter that by pressuring Sam Bradford into some mistakes. But I wouldn't bet on it.
