There's more pressure on everything now. Lineup decisions, coaching decisions, big plays, injuries. A player limps off the field early and you see your fantasy dreams slipping away. He comes back and scores and all is right in the world. These are the Sundays where the NFL exerts its hold over the world. Some can't miss TV yesterday.

Cardinals at Falcons: Picked up Taylor Gabriel in dynasty a while back. Looking good now. Guy gradually becoming startable; big-play potential all game. Players like him and Tyreek Hill have to love the contract Tavon Austin somehow got, seeing as they're better. David Johnson lost an early touchdown when Arizona didn't challenge a poor spot, but still finished with a huge day. About the only Cardinal you can count on big numbers from right now. Carson Palmer's numbers look better than he played. Quiet game from Julio Jones, as the Arizona secondary does its job. On him. Good fantasy production from both Falcons running backs, again. Freeman got a goal-line carry. Coleman fell down on a possible touchdown catch.

Bengals at Ravens: Funny moment in this one when Justin Tucker nailed a field goal from 57 yards, and he stood at midfield with his arms raised like Russell Crowe in Gladiator. Fair play to Tucker, who had a huge game. Huge for a kicker, yes, I realize. I benched Jeremy Hill and don't feel terrible about it since he went nowhere on the ground. But catching 6 passes for 61 yards, kind of wish I'd started him. Otherwise game about as expected, Bengals offense pretty limited now. Eifert TD and another end-zone chance, he'll be busy with Green out.

Jaguars at Bills: Huge game for LeSean McCoy. Good game for Tyrod Taylor. A tough loss for Jacksonville (story of their season). Chris Ivory was on his way to a huge game when he got hurt early on. Still got you decent numbers if you started him, but it could have been great. Blake Bortles picked up the slack, rushing for 80 yards. Sammy Watkins caught a 62-yard pass in his 3 for 80 game, playing limited snaps. Should be good next week.

Titans at Bears: Well, the Titans defense did get a couple of picks, but wasn't good enough -- fortunate to get a win, actually, with Chicago dropping an easy touchdown late, plus a terrible end-zone pick by Matt Barkley. Who did finish with decent fantasy numbers, impressive considering the laundry list of nobody players in the receiving corps he was working with. Oh yeah, Jordan Howard dropped an easy touchdown on a little flip. Derrick Henry, out of nowhere, got more chances than normal, scoring a touchdown, holding DeMarco Murray's numbers down. Murray maybe limited by a toe injury. Anyway, props to Barkley, not as awful as anticipated.

Giants at Browns: Nightmare start for Odell Beckham, who left the game twice with injuries and was missed on multiple chances by Eli Manning. But he paid off with a couple of touchdowns, because the Browns give those up to wideouts every single week. Strangely Giants didn't work the run much in this one, but got their win. Kind of an ugly game, but a big one for Terrelle Pryor at least.

Chargers at Texans: When Philip Rivers is on, he's really on. Couple of sweet touchdown throws to Dontrelle Inman and Tyrell Williams (another big game) and then to Hunter Henry. Texans can lament the lack of respect, but they're just not very good. Chargers are way better than their record, would be nice if they'd won one or two of the games that they blew and then the AFC West would be even crazier. Surprisingly quiet game for Melvin Gordon.

49ers at Dolphins: So I was facing Colin Kaepernick in a playoff matchup, which is why it was extra frustrating watching Kaepernick run for several hundred yards and have a good game passing it, too. A wild finish where the 49ers very nearly forced overtime; Kaepernick tackled at the 2 to end it. Nice game for Ryan Tannehill, too, and DeVante Parker was just a cleat-length from a touchdown and another sideline grab. Vance McDonald dropped a touchdown in this game, Carlos Hyde caught one on the next play. Kaepernick a regular fantasy starter the rest of the way, especially if he's going to run this much. Obviously.

Rams at Saints: The problem with these late instances of players being cleared from concussions or other injuries is that sometimes you forget and leave them on the bench. As I did in a league with Ingram. Ouch. Anyway, huge game for the Saints, but somebody always gets left out -- in this case Brandin Cooks shockingly getting shut out. Kudos to Jared Goff who took advantage of a bad defense. Had a bad sack/fumble and his team got blown out, but he hasn't looked nearly as inept as everyone expected.

Seahawks at Buccaneers: Everybody has a bad game every once in a while. That was Russell Wilson, another week when the team's poor offensive line seemed like a liability. No holes for Thomas Rawls, and Wilson got a lot of pressure and it rattled him. He made a few poor throws, just missed a few others. Bucs win, with all their scoring coming early on. Not much doubt Seattle will be there at the end. They'll probably eliminate the Panthers from playoff contention next week.

Patriots at Jets: The big revelation in this game was Malcolm Mitchell, who looks like he'll be a factor in this offense the rest of the way. Brady kept looking for him in the red zone, throwing him 2 TDs and having another ball off his hands in the back of the end zone. Lot of targets in New England, but I'm intrigued by Mitchell. (So he'll probably be totally forgotten next week.) As for the Jets, well, they're a rudderless ship right now. No doubt they were going to lose this game even when up 17-13 late. Gronkowski left after two near-misses (one which we was obviously held on) with a back injury, but initial indications are he'll be fine.

Panthers at Raiders: Early on, taking notes on this game, I had some bad stuff to say about Cam Newton. He threw an ugly Pick Six, and I'm thinking, Not going to say he doesn't care, but how much different would it look than how he's actually performing? But then he brought them back, including a pretty bomb to Kelvin Benjamin, and it looked like they were going to win. And if Greg Olsen had held a ball off his hands in the final minute in field goal range, maybe they would have. But it's that kind of season for Carolina. They don't get completed, and they suffer another tough loss.

Kansas City at Broncos: Somebody at NBC is very happy they flexed Patriots-Jets out of this spot. Worked out with a classic game. I'm pretty sure the week I picked up dynamite rookie Tyreek Hill he was my second choice, and I was outbid on my first -- don't even know who it was but fairly certain that player didn't score 3 TDs for me last night in a key playoff win. Sometimes you get lucky. Better game from Denver's offense than expected, especially after they flailed around doing nothing for most of the first half.

Monday, Monday: Loser of this game pretty much toast in the NFC, and the winner isn't looking great either. I'm starting Wendell Smallwood everywhere, with the small worry that Darren Sproles will get the vast majority of the snaps. For the Packers, a tough matchup with a defense that's played well at home, but I think Aaron Rodgers will get his anyway. Hard to see Green Bay losing this one, but I've said that a few weeks in a row now and it's time to just give it up; they're not that good. Still, Green Bay 26, Philadelphia 23.
