Green Bay is dealing with a slew of injured wide receivers. Jordy Nelson has a couple of broken ribs, Davante Adams has an ankle injury and Geronimo Allison has a hamstring injury. All three will likely be limited on Sunday, if they play at all.

It raises the question of whether Trevor Davis or Jeff Janis will be the better fill-in option, but neither seems like a reliable choice -- especially if those banged-up wide receivers are active (which is expected in the case of Adams and Allison, and possible with Nelson). A better option is probably tight end Jared Cook.

Over the last five weeks, Randall Cobb has missed most or all of three games, Jordy Nelson most or all of the other two. Cook in those games averaged 5 catches for 66 yards. In his other seven games, Cook did very little, catching more than 1 pass only three times and putting up even 20 yards only twice.

Certainly Cook building a rapport with Aaron Rodgers late in the season was also significant. But Green Bay missing a key wide receiver, as the offense likely will be on Sunday, is another factor. I'll have Cook in any lineup I can use him in this week.
