Question

What running back won five NCAA championships (two in football, three in baseball) and played for teams in four different football leagues?

Answer

Anthony Davis. Davis probably should have won the Heisman in 1974. He finished 2nd in the voting, and then in Southern Cal’s final regular season game scored 4 touchdowns (one on a kickoff return) to help the Trojans overcome a 24-0 deficit against #4 Notre Dame. Davis was drafted in the 2nd round by the Jets but instead played for the Southern California Sun of the WFL. He played the next year in the CFL for the Toronto Argonauts. Davis played in the NFL in the 1977-78 seasons, for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Houston Oilers and Los Angeles Rams. He came back in 1983 to play for the Los Angeles Express of the USFL.
