ASK THE EXPERTS appears weekly from training camp through the Super Bowl with answers to a new question being posted Thursday morning. How the guest experts responded when we asked them: Who would you like to see traded?

SCOTT PIANOWSKI

I don't know if a D.J. Moore trade is realistic, but like the rest of the world I'd love to see him freed from the Carolina quarterback mess. More plausibly, I wonder if the Jets would consider trading Corey Davis. He's still a solid player, but he's stagnated on a roster that's competing with an underrated defense and a strong running game. The Jets also have two starting receivers younger than Davis; they should be the team's development priority. Davis would be interesting on several contending clubs that need receiver help.

DAVID DOREY

I'd guess the easy answer would be Christian McCaffrey going anywhere, and I think he will, but it is doubtful wherever he goes that he'll remain so heavily used. Teams would pay the price for him as the final piece to the puzzle that would include other, better, players than what he has beside him in Carolina. I'd like to see Kareem Hunt go elsewhere. He's always been the No. 2 at Cleveland on an offense that doesn't throw much or particularly well. If he gets traded, he'll suffer no drop in usage and likely see a spike. How about Denver? Or back to Kansas City? Or the Rams? He is still in his prime and not used to his potential.

IAN ALLAN

I would like to see Kadarius Toney moved. There seems to be some kind of issue between him and the team — either he doesn’t want to play for the Giants, or they don’t like something about him. It’s hard to believe that he’s been sidelined for essentially three months by a hamstring injury. If he can get in the right situation, I think he could be pretty good. We’ve seen that already. He had that game last year in Dallas where he caught 10 passes for 189 yards. And he caught 6 passes for 78 yards at New Orleans. I would be interested in seeing him in a situation where he’s healthy and excited to be coming to work, and with a team that wanted to use him.

JASON WOOD

Christian McCaffrey is an elite asset that’s being wasted in Carolina. Seeing him land on a contender would vault him from being a frustrating anchor to those who used the No. 2 overall pick on him in drafts to a league winner. The Rams are the top option because they have a massive need at the position, with Buffalo being the backup spot.

SCOTT SACHS

If I'm the Denver GM, and I'm looking to get my team back in the playoff chase, I move Melvin Gordon before Sunday. Fumbling is curable, but you have to have the desire to be cured -- and I just haven't seen it from him. Not sure if Cam Akers or Ronald Jones is the answer, but almost any healthy running back who is attainable is worth Denver taking a hard look at before the season gets away from them.

ANDY RICHARDSON

It would be nice to see the Rams bring in a top all-purpose running back. Christian McCaffrey is the high-profile name, but there are others trapped in lesser situations, like Kareem Hunt. Green Bay's annual stubbornness when it comes to maybe trading a pick for a wide receiver is frustrating. Why not make a play for someone like D.J. Moore? It would be nice to see tight end Mike Gesicki moved, with the Dolphins not seeming to have much interest in consistently using him, but no one wants his contract and I don't see a clear fit. So I'll vote Moore to Green Bay or maybe Baltimore, even though it's not going to happen.
