Damontae Kazee has been suspended for the rest of the 2023 season due to his recent hit on Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and "repeated violations" of player health and safety rules.

The NFL has suspended Pittsburgh Steelers safety Damontae Kazee for the rest of the 2023 season due to his recent hit on Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr., which led to Pittman suffering a concussion. The suspension comes in response to what the league describes as "repeated violations" of player health and safety rules.

The incident occurred when Kazee hit Pittman's head/neck area while the receiver was in a defenseless position. NFL Vice President of Football Operations Jon Runyan emphasized the seriousness of the violation in a letter to Kazee, noting the avoidable and flagrant nature of the hit.

The suspension includes the rest of the regular season and any potential playoff games for the 7-7 Steelers, underscoring the NFL's commitment to enforcing rules intended to protect players.

The Steelers play the Bengals, the Seahawks and the Ravens for their last three games and currently have a 31 percent chance of making the playoffs.
