Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is still in concussion protocol, as confirmed by head coach Doug Pederson in a recent news conference. Pederson noted that Lawrence is making good progress, but his availability for the upcoming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers remains uncertain.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence remains in the concussion protocol, head coach Doug Pederson reported during Wednesday's press conference. Despite making progress, Lawrence's status for the upcoming Sunday game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is still uncertain.

Lawrence entered the protocol after reporting symptoms following the Jaguars' recent loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Pederson indicated the concussion likely occurred in a fourth-quarter play, however Lawrence finished the game shaky.

If Lawrence is not cleared for Sunday, veteran quarterback C.J. Beathard (2-12 record) will most likely start despite the Jaguars signing E.J. Perry to the practice squad on Tuesday.

Despite a string of recent losses, the 8-6 Jaguars sit at the top of the AFC South standings, holding critical tiebreakers over divisional competitors.
