Head coach Jonathan Gannon confirmed this morning after concerns about Brown's heel.

After dealing with a heel injury for weeks, The Cardinals' No. 1 receiver has officially been placed on injured reserve, effectively ending his season.

Brown didn't practice all week and missed one game last week and was limited in the two previous games. Brown has also dealt with a thumb, hamstring, and illness this season.

Head coach Gannon said "He tried man. I love him for it. For the better part of a month he's been grinding through an injury. He's a Ferrari out there and you're putting unleaded in him when he needs premium. He wants to play. He just can't go."

The 26-year old Brown caught 51 of his 101 targets for 574 yards and four touchdowns. Brown’s contract expires after the season and he will be an unrestricted free agent in March if his contract is not renewed. Plans to keep him on are uncertain.

Michael Wilson will replace Brown at the #1 WR spot as the Cardinals finish out their lackluster season against the NFC East-leading Philadelphia Eagles (11-4) and NFC West rivals Seattle Seahawks (8-7) who currently have a 70 percent chance of making the playoffs.

The 3-12 Cards currently have the second worst record in the league above the 2-13 Carolina Panthers.
