Around the NFL: Norv Turner is crazy

Coaches say the darnedest things. Norv Turner takes the cake for today, indicating that it’s realistic for Christian McCaffrey to get 25-30 touches per game. Yet another indication we need less talking and more on-field action.  more »

McCaffrey could see increased workload

Carolina running back CHRISTAIN MCCAFFREY could see an increased workload in the backfield this season with new offensive coordinator Norv Turner on board. Head coach Ron Rivera said he saw noMore reason that McCaffrey can’t reach 200 carries after getting only 117 as a rookie. While free agent running back C.J. ANDERSON will also be in the mix, it sounds like there will still be plenty of opportunity for McCaffrey. Less

Around the NFL: C.J. Anderson

The Panthers signed C.J. Anderson yesterday, a marriage that looked like a good fit ever since the Broncos released him. Carolina lost Jonathan Stewart and didn't add anyone in the draft, while Anderson is a capable back who was released by Denver for reasons that aren't entirely apparent; the team wanted to go with younger options with more upside, perhaps.   more »

Around the NFL: Broncos release Anderson

The Broncos have released C.J. Anderson, and like the Dez Bryant release, you wonder a little bit why the team couldn't have done the player a favor by cutting him sooner. Anderson can still play, and might have had more of a market earlier in the free agency period.   more »

Around the NFL: Denver Broncos

We've had some interest in Devontae Booker. He disappointed as a rookie, but he's a talented guy, and seemed to have a shot to get past C.J. Anderson, plus he was a better bet to stay healthy than Jamaal Charles. But not a great week for those theories.   more »
