The Eagles didn't do much at running back in last weekend's draft. They used a late fourth-round pick on Donnel Pumphrey, who's 5-foot-8 and weighs 176 pounds. Nobody seems to know what the future holds for Ryan Mathews, coming off neck surgery. Darren Sproles turns 34 next month.   more »

Smallwood, Sproles injured in loss

The Philadelphia Eagles backfield took a hit on Sunday when running backs WENDELL SMALLWOOD and DARREN SPROLES left the game with injuries. Smallwood suffered a Grade 2 MCL (knee) sprain while Sproles suffered a concussion. Smallwood is likely done for the season while Sproles is in the concussion protocol.
