Washington loses two more running backs

A week after rookie running back DERRIUS GUICE tore his ACL in the first preseason game, Washington lost two more running backs in the team’s second preseason game. SAMAJE PERINE sufferedMore a twisted ankle but tests were negative and he’s expected to miss only about a week. Washington loses Guice for the season

Washington rookie running back DERRIUS GUICE suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during Thursday night’s preseason opening game. Guice will miss the season as a result of the injury. Washington will move forward with a mix of CHRIS THOMPSON, SAMAJE PERINE, ROB KELLEY, and BYRON MARSHALL.

Rookie RB Guice injures knee

Washington rookie running back DERRIUS GUICE injured his knee in Thursday night’s preseason loss to New England. Guice was seen on the sideline with his knee heavily wrapped in ice before walking to the locker room just prior to halftime. Guice is set to have an MRI exam today.

Thompson ready to go for camp

Washington running back CHRIS THOMPSON confirmed that he will be ready to go when the team begins training camp on Thursday. Thompson went on injured reserve after 10 games in 2017More with a fractured fibula. He is expected to lead the Washington offense as a third-down back and in passing situations. Rookie DERRIUS GUICE and returning starter ROB KELLEY are also likely to be in the mix in what appears to be a crowded backfield in Washington. Less
