Every Saturday morning, I'll take a quick look at all the week's games, offering my own take on what I think will happen, as well as touching on significant injury news since our Weekly came out. I'll check in every so often over the course of the day to answer questions, too.

Week 3 is here, and some teams face a must-win situation. Fantasy teams too, though I will say not to despair. Last year I won a championship with a team that started out 0-3. Sometimes a poor start is strictly about matchups, and sometimes getting those top waiver picks that first week or two can make a difference in your team the rest of the way. On to the games, and as always, feel free to ask questions. I'll check back in this afternoon and evening with answers.

Bengals at Ravens: The Ravens are one of those teams that absolutely has to win. I think they will, but then, I was so sure they'd win LAST week that I made them my choice in a survivor pool, and well, here we are. I'm not sure we can say anything for certain about either defense right now, but I'm a little wary of the running backs, and high on the No. 1 WRs. Both QBs and TEs look OK, too. Might need to be more passing than running. Taliaferro has a foot injury, risky to use him. Lowered my bid on him because of it in a waiver claim Wednesday and missed out as a result. Hopefully I won't regret it.

Saints at Panthers: Drew Brees is OUT, and that's obviously huge. Luke McCown did fine in the preseason, but those games don't count. The only Saints wideout I'd consider is Brandin Cooks, and not as favorably as I would have. Mark Ingram and C.J. Spiller should be busy in this one (no Luke Kuechly again, a plus). For the Panthers, Jonathan Stewart is banged-up. Sounds like he'll play, but if he doesn't, think about picking up Cameron Artis-Payne. Newton and Olsen look great. But I will pass on the wideouts, only looking at somebody like Ted Ginn as a cheap player in daily games who might happen to catch a long bomb. Jerricho Cotchery won't play.

Raiders at Browns: Somebody came through here with an ugly stick, and this is the game we have to deal with. I'm not buying Travis Benjamin, call me stubborn if you must. Josh McCown at quarterback again, not for Benjamin's TDs. Both starting running backs look good here, and I like Amari Cooper to have a nice game, Joe Haden or no. Not a must-start kind of good game, because the Raiders won't score in the 30s all the time.

Falcons at Cowboys: No Tony Romo or Dez Bryant, but Jason Witten won't let a few injuries slow him down. He probably wouldn't play through a broken collarbone or foot, although you never know. I feel like Weeden should be OK enough that Witten and Terrance Williams are starting for me. Atlanta, no Tevin Coleman. Doesn't make Devonta Freeman an exciting choice, exactly, but he should be the main player. No. 2 wideout for Atlanta, go with the one we've ranked higher, that's my advice there.

Buccaneers at Texans: I expected the Bucs to get a beat down in New Orleans, but of course their defense is terrible and Drew Brees got hurt in the first quarter. Maybe this will go differently, although the Texans don't have that kind of firepower. Sounds like DeAndre Hopkins is cleared from his concussion and will be fine to go, but you've got to check Sunday to be sure. I think Mike Evans is a candidate for a good game, wouldn't touch the Seferian-Jenkins fill-ins, and am not totally confident that Alfred Blue will be the guy in Houston's backfield; I'll call it 70-30 over Chris Polk, but that's not something I feel great about. Though the matchup is good.

Chargers at Vikings: Intriguing game between two sort-of-good teams who could be playoff contenders if stuff goes right, and this game will put one of them at 2-1. Mike Zimmer used to run the defense in Cincinnati, so San Diego's game last week might be a blueprint for this one, too. I like Melvin Gordon this week. No Ladarius Green, it sounds like. Adrian Peterson should also be very good in this game. Potential in San Diego's passing game with Philip Rivers pretty sharp. Made an effort to get Gordon in a league this week, because I'm thinking it might be more difficult next week.

Jaguars at Patriots: I don't know why people were surprised that LeGarrette Blount didn't do much last week, and no one should be surprised this week when he's a large part of the gameplan. That said, Tom Brady looks like the player on a mission right now and there will be plenty of passing. I made the Patriots my Survivor Pool choice this week (there's a buy-back option the first three weeks of the season), my wife took Seattle. Sorry to talk about gambling, moving on. For the Jaguars, T.J. Yeldon and Allen Robinson both look like viable options, albeit in a losing effort.

Eagles at Jets: It was surprising to basically everyone I talked to that the Eagles were favored in this game. Including me. But now that it appears that Chris Ivory and Eric Decker probably won't play (and in my opinion should not be used), it makes a little more sense. Game might be slightly lower-scoring. I still love Brandon Marshall and like Bilal Powell, though I do think Zac Stacy will be involved, too. DeMarco Murray hurting for the Eagles, and the matchup is brutal, so yeah I'd steer clear of him and Ryan Mathews. Maybe I'd use Mathews IF Murray is ruled out.

Steelers at Rams: Not betting against the Steelers passing offense, so yes on Roethlisberger, Brown, Miller and of course LeVeon Bell in his first game back from suspension. For the Rams, I'd avoid the running game. I have Gurley and Mason in different leagues and am using neither, although if Gurley actually doesn't play, I'd consider Mason. I suspect when Gurley plays, he'll get 5-10 carries, tops, as they take it easy with him. Tough to count on Rams receivers, either; Jared Cook seems to have a fairly reliable role.

Colts at Titans: Big game coming for the Colts offense. Andrew Luck, Frank Gore, T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief (I think) -- like 'em all. Dwayne Allen is out, so I like and am using Coby Fleener. Time for the Colts to open up a can of whoop butt. For the Titans, well, the Colts don't do much noteworthy on defense. Vontae Davis is great, assuming he's back from his concussion, but I'm not sure he'll lock onto Kendall Wright. Maybe. Delanie Walker is probable, he'll be out there. Running backs, I guess Bishop Sankey, but it's a committee.

49ers at Cardinals: And Andre Elllington is maybe going to play in this game. I wouldn't have wanted to use a Cardinals back anyway, now you definitely need to be wary. If it's a three-man mix on a pass-first team against a serviceable run defense... I like Palmer and Brown, and want no part of the 49ers offense. Carlos Hyde seems to be healthy and playing, and you probably have to use him if you have him. But he's not going to go wild against this defense.

Bills at Dolphins: Buffalo's defense is way better than it showed against New England last week, while Miami's probably isn't as bad as it looked against Jacksonville. So what we'll probably get is a 23-20 type of game where the better defense wins. Lamar Miller and Jordan Cameron are hurt and can't be trusted in this game; matchup is tough, but should Miller be ruled out, you can think about Damien Williams. I like Watkins and Landry.

Bears at Seahawks: No Jay Cutler and no Alshon Jeffery. Yikes. You've got Matt Forte and Martellus Bennett on the road with Jimmy Clausen running the offense against a ticked-off 0-2 Seahawks team that plays its best ball at home. Start your Seahawks. Avoid the Bears you can avoid. Simple enough. I'm using Bennett in an FFPC (1.5 points for TE receptions) league. Marshawn Lynch has a calf injury, a concern. Watch the shows Sunday a.m. Pete Carroll says game time call, and he's usually Mr. Optimism, too. Thomas Rawls as your deep sleeper of the week?

Broncos at Lions: Broke this one down pretty well in the Weekly I think. Denver has a really good defense, and Detroit's offense is having trouble protecting Matthew Stafford, or he's having trouble handling the pressure...whatever the case. He's banged up and it's not a great situation for Detroit. I think the Lions will try to get Ameer Abdullah going because they have to. For Denver, uh, the running back situation is tough. I'd probably give C.J. Anderson another week in my lineup...have to think he's going to break out. Denver passing offense, Yes.

Kansas City at Packers: Can the Packers be beat at home these days? Kansas City seems like it has some of the intangibles to maybe give it a whirl. Special teams plays, maybe. Big numbers out of Jamaal Charles. The running back situation for Green Bay is the big injury one, that and Davante Adams. If you have Lacy, hopefully you have Starks. If you have Adams, have another option in place in this game, or simply avoid it, bench him, and use a Sunday player. Matchup isn't so great that you have to start a gimpy Adams.

Enjoy the games.
