Not that anyone asked, but my 148 points last week ranked 22nd overall. I've climbed into the top 50 in this competition. I've had a couple of decent Daily Fantasy League teams of late too, thank you very much. But enough of my yapping. Week 6? Week 6.

Details were laid out here , so if you missed that column, check it out, and then come on back here.

The contest is totally free, and it's simple. Each week you pick the best 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 2 TEs and 2 PKs (scoring system: 1 point for 10 run/rec or 20 passing yards, 6 points for run/rec TDs, 4 points for passing TDs, straight NFL points for kickers). You will be playing alongside Fantasy Index writers and subscribers, and there will be weekly prizes for the reader whose team posts the best score. Here's my Week 6 lineup.

Quarterbacks: Matt Ryan and Tom Brady. Uh, it's possible I used these same two players last week. But whatever. Ryan faces a terrible Saints defense. Brady might have a little chip on his shoulder about the whistle-blowing Colts. To me these guys are the clear choices at quarterback this week. Carson Palmer and Eli Manning are in the discussion.

Running Backs: Matt Forte and Adrian Peterson. The Bears face a Lions defense down two key defenders at a minimum. The Vikings are home against a gut-punched Kansas City team. Peterson all day. I may need to replace Forte with LeGarrette Blount; we'll see. Devonta Freeman against the Saints is another possibility.

Wide Receivers: A.J. Green, Larry Fitzgerald, DeAndre Hopkins. Tricky week, with both Julio Jones and Odell Beckham Jr. banged up. If Beckham Jr. is healthy enough, he replaces either Fitz or Hopkins. Green is definitely in my lineup in Buffalo.

Tight ends: Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Gates. Blah blah Gronkowski not on his bye and not injured. Gates will draw extra attention from Green Bay, but he's making up for lost time. I like Martellus Bennett and Greg Olsen, too, but Gates looks fine.

Kickers: Stephen Gostkowski and Steven Hausckha. Pair of Stevens.

If this game required defenses, I'd be opting for Broncos against Josh McCown, and either the Cardinals against Michael Vick or the Panthers against sack-prone Russell Wilson.

Good luck to the rest of you.
