I notice that more teams than usual are scoring essentially all of their touchdowns on passes. They’re simply not trying to run the ball. The Jaguars headline this group, with all but one of their 20 touchdowns coming on passes. The Chargers, Browns and Lions aren’t far behind.
(And here, I’m talking just offensive touchdowns – not fumbles, interceptions and kick returns.)
It’s weird. In the last 15 years combined, only 20 teams have scored over 80 percent of their touchdowns on pass plays. This year, nine teams are doing it.
