Seldom has a mediocre journeyman quarterback had so much fantasy significance. But it's going to a major concern for several high-quality players if the Jets don't reach some sort of compromise with Ryan Fitzpatrick soon.

Fitzpatrick had strong year for the Jets last season, even though his end-of-season interception meltdown was part of why the team blew a playoff spot. Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker both went over 1,000 yards and caught 12-plus TDs. Now both wideouts are absent from OTAs, and the team's failure to reach a deal with Fitzpatrick is a factor for at least one of them.

Decker's absence is apparently a protest over Fitzpatrick not being signed. With Marshall it's not as clear, but it's possible. Evidently, those guys have seen enough of Geno Smith, just like most Jets fans.

With Fitzpatrick, Marshall, Decker and new running back Matt Forte look like great fantasy options. With Smith or some youngster (Bryce Petty? Christian Hackenberg?) not so much.

New York doesn't have a 2016 quarterback and Fitzpatrick doesn't have a job. We're putting together the magazine assuming the sides work something out eventually.

It would be nice if that happened fairly soon.
