The magazine is working its electronic way to the printer as we speak, and spoiler, the Denver Broncos do not have the top defense on our board. I'm starting to wonder if they should have been a little lower.

Malik Jackson and Danny Trevathan are elsewhere. Von Miller doesn't yet have a new contract. And Aqib Talib got shot over the weekend. He's going to miss some preseason time while he recovers, and he might end up missing some league-mandated time after that.

Sounds like Talib shot himself, a Plaxico Burress echo. But there's more to the story, since two other people were apparently shot that night at a Dallas night club. So it's a story that will probably get worse for Talib before it gets better.

Von Miller, who's franchised, will probably end up signing a long term deal soon. But with two key starters gone and one facing a possible suspension, a Denver defense that ranked 1st in sacks and 7th in takeaways a year ago doesn't look quite as good today.
