The Eagles were headed into Week 15 with a shot at a playoff spot, and were gearing up for what should have been a high-scoring battle with the Rams in Los Angeles. But it's being reported that Carson Wentz is going to miss the game, with Nick Foles in the lineup.

That's the word from Ian Rapoport. It's bad enough that the Eagles might shut down Wentz for the season (and if they lose at Los Angeles, season's over, so they may as well).

Nick Foles isn't chopped liver. Super Bowl MVP, right? But he threw for just 117 yards in the Week 1 win over Atlanta. He went for 334 at Tampa Bay, but just 1 TD, and back then everyone was throwing for 350 against the Bucs.

Maybe Foles recaptures his playoff magic, but far more likely the Eagles struggle at Los Angeles this week, with passing numbers down. It's bad news for Alshon Jeffery, Zach Ertz and the rest of the Eagles passing offense.

Previously, I'd been looking forward to maybe using Jeffery, and just maybe even Dallas Goedert, after his play at Dallas last week. I'd figured Wentz might go for 300 yards and a couple of touchdowns in a high-scoring loss.

Now I think you still use Ertz, who should catch plenty of passes, but I'm not keen to use any other Eagles.
