The Eagles sure get Dallas Goedert downfield a bunch. He’s more mobile than a typical tight end, and they try to take advantage of that.

Goedert averaged 14.8 yards per catch two years ago, and he was up at 12.8 last year. He is not a Hayden Hurst or Tyler Higbee type who’s camped out around the line of scrimmage, catching dumpoff balls.

The production is even more impressive when factoring in that they are consistently connecting on those plays. Goedert caught just short of 80 percent of the passes thrown his way last year. He finished at 74 percent the previous season.

Blending the two numbers, Goedert has averaged over 10 yards per pass play two years in a row. In the last 30 years, only two other tight ends have averaged over 10 yards per pass play in back-to-back seasons, and both are Hall of Fame type guys: Antonio Gates and Rob Gronkowski. Only one other tight end has exceeded the 10-yard threshold twice (George Kittle).
