Around the NFL: Rishard Matthews

The Saints have added Rishard Matthews to their 90-man roster. This isn’t a show-stopping signing, but Matthews has done enough that he’ll be worth a peek in August – see if he can get back to how he was playing a few years back.  more »

Jets add WR Matthews

The New York Jets signed veteran free agent wide receiver RISHARD MATTHEWS, 29, on Tuesday to aid their ailing wide receiver corps. Matthews was recently released by the Tennessee Titans but he gets another opportunity to catch passes with the Jets.

Around the NFL: Rishard Matthews

The Jets are going through wide receivers like people change their shirts. They brought in Terrelle Pryor in the offseason, and now Rishard Matthews -- players dumped unceremoniously by their former teams. Pryor was released last week, Quincy Enunwa is hurt, and Jermaine Kearse played almost every snap last week without catching a pass. So may as well try something new.  more »

Around the NFL: Titans release Matthews

The Titans are releasing Rishard Matthews. He was upset with his playing time and his role in the offense. I don’t know how much he’s got left, but I will be interested to see if he lands in a more favorable situation.   more »

Titans to release WR Matthews

After logging just three receptions for 11 yards to start the season, Tennessee wide receiver RISHARD MATTHEWS asked the team to release him. The Titans will grant Matthews’ request and theMore wideout will be free to pursue work elsewhere. If Matthews is somehow taking up space on your fantasy bench, please correct the situation. Less

Titans activate Matthews from PUP list

The Tennessee Titans activated wide receiver RISHARD MATTHEWS from the physically unable to perform list on Sunday. Matthews had been on the PUP list since the beginning of training camp but he is now cleared to practice with the team.

Around the NFL: Titanic uncertainty

Few will get nostalgic for the Mike Mularkey era, but I don't recall a lot of uncertainty with the health status of players. Now we've got two to worry about, and they're two of the main components of the passing game. And they affect healthy players, too.   more »

Titans WR Matthews recovering from knee surgery

Tennessee wide receiver RISHARD MATTHEWS reportedly had knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus. The Titans had been quiet about Matthews’ injury status but now we know why he has not been practicing. The knee is apparently improving, with Matthews supposedly very close to returning to the practice field.

Around the NFL: Sleeper in Tennessee?

The Titans have Rishard Matthews on the PUP list. He hasn’t practiced at all. And that increases my interest in Taywan Taylor. Not a sure thing, of course, but he could prove to be an awesome late-round pick.   more »

Factoid: Underrated Rishard Matthews

If you want to try look under the radar, I kind of like Rishard Matthews. Every year he tends to be lightly regarded as a former seventh-round pick, and every year he effectively does his job.   more »

Around the NFL: Eric Decker

The Titans have signed Eric Decker, and that's a boon to their offense. He's a big, sure-handed receiver who has three seasons with double-digit touchdowns, plus he's only 30 -- should have plenty of football left. But it's hard not to see his addition as a negative for the team's other pass catchers.   more »

Titans sign free agent WR Decker

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with veteran wide receiver ERIC DECKER on a one-year deal. The Titans receiving corps is becoming crowded from a fantasy standpoint, with Decker joining veteran RISHARD MATTHEWS, rookie first-round pick COREY DAVIS, as well as HARRY DOUGLAS and TAJAE SHARPE.

Factoid: Tennessee Titans

The Titans are expected to go hard after a free agent wideout -- maybe Alshon Jeffery, the top performer available at the position, or perhaps Kenny Stills. Plucking a wide receiver away from Miami, after all, worked out well for the team a year ago with Rishard Matthews. There's also a rumor about them exploring a trade for Brandin Cooks.  more »

Factoid: Goal-line receiving

I’ve got the inside-the-10 receiving stats in front of me, and a couple of names stand out. Cameron Brate and Rishard Matthews, believe it or not, were statistically the most effective players in that part of the field. And plenty of notable names underperformed.  more »
