Around the NFL: Adrian Peterson
Washington signed Adrian Peterson to a veteran's minimum deal last week. He's 33 years old and averaged 3.4 yards per carry across two teams last season, so his best football is behind him. But after watching his debut with Washington last night, it looks like he can still play. more »

Around the NFL: Washington running backs
Football returned in a big way last night, with 12 games and a chance to see a large percentage of the various rookies in action. A lot of them delivered some big plays right away, including Saquon Barkley, Antonio Callaway and a couple of the Green Bay wideouts fighting for depth chart positioning. But the ugly side of the preseason -- injuries -- also reared its head. more »

NFL Injury Report: Monday night injuries
Good news for those hoping to start Alshon Jeffery on Monday night. Washington has ruled out cornerback Josh Norman. That makes it more likely Jeffery will have a big night. (When Norman is healthy and on his game, that’s a matchup the Eagles probably would shy away from; when Carson Wentz threw for 307 yards and 2 TDs at Washington back in Week 1, Jeffery caught only 3 passes for 38 yards.) more »

Fantasy points plentiful on Sunday Night Football
Washington quarterback KIRK COUSINS and running back ROBERT KELLEY each scored 3 touchdowns against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night to leave fantasy owners smiling. Not to be outdone, Green… More Bay quarterback AARON RODGERS threw for 3 touchdowns of his own. Both quarterbacks also topped 350 passing yards while Kelley rushed for a career-best 137 yards. Less

Kelley remains top dog in Washington backfield
Undrafted rookie running back ROBERT KELLEY is now the starter in Washington and he ran well again on Sunday. While fantasy owners would have liked a touchdown or two, Kelley ran… More for 97 yards on 21 carries against one of the league’s top run defenses. Kelley also held onto the ball, unlike third-down back CHRIS THOMPSON, who lost a fumble against the Vikings. Less
