Fantasy Index Weekly: Super Bowl Rankings

Those of us who grew up in the 80s and early 90s can recall a whole lot of noncompetitive Super Bowls. Give Mike Shanahan and the Denver Broncos credit for finally ending the NFC's streak by upsetting the Packers, then winning even bigger over Atlanta a year later. But that's ancient history; the games have been mostly close for a while now.   more »

Fantasy Index Weekly: Super Bowl Preview: Kansas City

The point spread has fluctuated on this game, but you get the feeling that if both teams were fully healthy, Kansas City would be about a field-goal favorite. They have a decided experience edge, having advanced to the Super Bowl after the 2019 and 2020 seasons, beating San Francisco and losing to Tampa Bay in those games. The point spread and over-under suggests a 25-24 type of game.   more »

Bucs’ cannons silenced for Super Bowl

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the first team to play a Super Bowl in their own stadium, but they will not have all the comforts of home. The NFL, to maintainMore the integrity of the Super Bowl being a neutral site game, will not allow the Bucs to fire their stadium cannons at will during the game. As part of the Bucs’ typical game day program, the cannons are fired during trips to the red zone and after every score. The team will be allowed to fire the cannons during pregame introductions, and after the game if the Bucs win. Less
